Wasting Time

Lately I have noticed that I waste a lot of time on the internet. There is so much to do and learn on the internet yet I waste my time on Facebook and Myspace. I recently got rid of my iphone so that I would stop wasting time on it, and now I have replaced it with the computer. I could be doing so many other things with my time but it like sucks you in. its weird yet true and everyone does it.

I was reading the Come and Live blog one day and he said something that made a lot of sense. He made a list of the things that make him think of getting closer to God and a list of things that draw him away from God. I really liked that idea and all the things he wrote really made sense.

Things that are distracting:
Myspace
Facebook
Television
Looking for a VW Bus
Sleepiness
Eating

Things that are good:
Drinking Coffee and having some time in the morning
Walking and praying
Beautiful Mornings and sitting in the park
Riding my bike

Why is it so hard to stop looking at the internet for one minute and picking up the bible? I think its because I am just consumed with people and their lives. I know its sad but its true. Its kind of like when you are little and you are playing with your friends but you are really hungry and you want to eat but you are just too busy doing something else. I do that a lot especially at work I'll get busy doing something and wont take the time to slow down and eat or slow down and relax.

I went to the park this morning to walk my dog and have a little quiet time and it was absolutely amazing! The weather is great outside today! I was actually a little too cool whenever the wind would blow. I love days like today, they make me a little sad because I always think of Boise and how I would love to be there! I know its a little lame but I feel that that is where I should be, and hopefully one day I will be! The picture is of the Hyde Park district of Boise Idaho. You know you wanna go!

I am very thankful that in 3 weeks we will be hitting the road for our glorious 10 day vacation all around Colorado! We are driving up there and literally going through the whole state! I havent had a vacation in a while so I am super excited and very thankful for going. We have saved a good amount of money to have a great time!

Well time to put down the computer and pick up a book! Enjoy the beautiful day that the Lord has made!
